About Us
Volunteer Lawyers Birmingham (VLB) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Birmingham, Alabama, providing civil legal aid to low-income residents of Jefferson County. VLB is funded through the generous support of private foundations, law firms, local corporations, and individuals. We do not receive any direct funding from state or local government.
We believe in ensuring access to justice for all, regardless of financial circumstances. By providing pro bono legal services, we empower individuals to define their future and contribute to a more just and equitable world.

Our mission is to provide accessible and high-quality pro bono legal services to low-income residents of Jefferson County in need of assistance with civil legal issues.
