Client Coordinator

VLB is seeking a Client Coordinator to serve as the primary point of contact for clients and to support the delivery of legal assistance through clinics, help desks, and outreach events. This is an opportunity to be part of a team providing critical assistance for clients facing civil legal issues involving housing, domestic relations, wage garnishment, estate planning, expungements, and more. The person in this position will be responsible for answering the main VLB phone line, screening clients for eligibility based on program guidelines, conducting client prescreen/intakes, appointment scheduling, and serving as VLB’s primary point of client contact. Responsibilities: •Answer and manage the main VLB phone line during business hours. •Returning of calls and voicemails made during business hours. •Conduct client intake in compliance with eligibility and program guidelines. •Communicating effectively and respectfully with clients both orally and in writing. •Enter and maintain accurate client information in the case management system. •Coordinate all client communication, including scheduling for clinics, help desks, and follow‑up appointments. •Assist with logistics for off‑site clinics, including location coordination, setup, supplies, and volunteer support. •Perform administrative tasks as needed to support program operations. Qualifications: •At least two years of professional experience in a client‑facing role; legal experience preferred but not required •Strong written and oral communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate with empathy, clarity, and professionalism •Excellent organizational and administrative abilities •Proven ability to manage responsibilities with minimal oversight while maintaining high standards of accuracy and reliability •Basic technology proficiency, including phone systems, computer programs, and case management software. •Demonstrated passion for public service and commitment to advancing access to justice. •Willingness to participate in activities, legal assistance clinics, and events held after hours and/or weekends Salary and Benefits: •Salary range is $42,000 - $48,000 per year, depending on skills and experience. •Benefits include generous paid time off and paid holidays; health, dental, and vision insurance; retirement plan with employer match; and optional hybrid work schedule.
