Glory McLaughlin is the Executive Director of Volunteer Lawyers Birmingham. Prior to joining VLB in 2024, she was Assistant Dean for Public Interest Law at the University of Alabama School of Law, where she counseled and taught students who were pursuing careers as public interest lawyers. She also ran the law school’s pro bono and externship programs. Glory previously worked as a Staff Attorney for Legal Services Alabama and as an Associate at Redden, Mills, Clark & Shaw, where she practiced primarily in the fields of domestic relations and criminal appeals. She began her legal career as a law clerk to Hon. Keith Watkins in the Middle District of Alabama after receiving her J.D. from the University of Alabama.

Glory is an active member of the Birmingham Bar Association and the Alabama State Bar. In addition to being a graduate of the State Bar’s Leadership Forum, she also serves on the Pro Bono Committee and Pro Bono Celebration Task Force. Glory has previously served on the National Advisory Committee for Equal Justice Works and is currently President of the Board of Directors for the ACLU of Alabama.
When she’s not working or volunteering, Glory is either reading or spending time with her husband and teenage daughter. They enjoy traveling, being at the lake, playing board games, and buying sweaters for their dog.
Eric Vinsant is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a B.A. in philosophy. He began his journey in the legal profession obtaining his J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 2010. After working as an attorney in Tennessee for a number of years, he returned to Birmingham in 2019.

As a lawyer with years of experience, Eric was acutely aware of the challenges faced by low-income individuals and families in accessing legal services. He was drawn to Volunteer Lawyers Birmingham because of the organization’s commitment to bridging this gap and ensuring that everyone in the community had access to legal representation.

Since joining Volunteer Lawyers Birmingham, Eric has worked on a number of cases in every area of the law that the organization provides services to our clients. He has been impressed by the dedication of the organization’s staff and volunteers, who work tirelessly to help those in need.
Eric is proud to be a part of an organization that is making a real difference in the lives of people in the Birmingham community. He looks forward to continuing his work with Volunteer Lawyers Birmingham and helping to ensure that everyone has access to justice, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Breonna Garrett-Dunn attended the University of Alabama graduating in 2014 with a B.A. in Criminal Justice and a minor in Social Work. She attended Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in Montgomery, Alabama. While attending law school she was a legal administrative assistant and paralegal with her focus area in domestic relations and federal criminal appeals. Breonna graduated in 2018 with her JD and Public Interest certification.

Breonna Garrett-Dunn returned to her native Birmingham and began volunteering at Volunteer Lawyers Birmingham Domestic Relations Help Desk while studying for the bar exam. In 2019 she began her career with VLB as the intake/closing coordinator and has transitioned to Case Manager and now the Interim Operations Director.

In 2021, Breonna married her college best friend, Brelan Dunn and welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Baileigh the following year.

Megan Cheek has worked for nonprofit organizations for her entire professional career. She is passionate about fighting for better systems and policies for her community and neighbors. She currently serves as the Director of Programs and Engagement at Volunteer Lawyers Birmingham where she oversees pro bono clinics and volunteer recruitment, training, and support.
Prior to joining VLB, Megan worked as the Communications and Development Director for Alabama Appleseed. She also spent years independently consulting in marketing, implementing policies and procedures, fundraising, and more for local organizations and political campaigns. Before moving to Alabama, Megan worked in community arts as the Program Director and Deputy Director for Marketing and Communications for the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop and as the Executive Director of the Washington Youth Choir, both in Washington, D.C. She also co-founded H.I.V.E. Alabama, an organization focused on educating communities on critical issues in an effort to bring about positive, thoughtful, and intentional change.
A native of Georgia, Megan graduated with a B.A. in Public Relations from the University of Georgia. She lives in Birmingham with her amazing husband, three feisty children, and two elderly dogs. Megan serves on the boards of the Homewood Library, Girls Rock Birmingham, and Red Mountain Community School.
Greg Biddle has practiced law for over 34 years and concentrates his practice in the areas of Bankruptcy and Debtors Court for individuals. After a long career in private practice, Greg joined VLB in 2025 as Coordinating Attorney for the Alabama Bankruptcy Assistance Project, a statewide program that assists Alabamians with Chapter 7 bankruptcies.
Greg served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Richard Stair, Jr., United States Bankruptcy Judge in Knoxville, Tennessee, after graduating from the University of Alabama School of Law with a J.D. in 1989. He also served as an intern to the Honorable George S. Wright, United States Chief Bankruptcy Judge in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. While in law school, Greg served as Managing Editor of the Law and Psychology Review and received the Dean’s Award. In addition, he was inducted into ODK and the Bench and Bar Legal Honor Society. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, cum laude, from the University of Alabama, where he was recognized as an Outstanding Senior in Finance and was inducted into the Financial Management Honor Society and Omicron Delta Epsilon economics honorary.
Greg is a member of the Alabama State Bar Association and the Birmingham Bar Association, where he has served on the Executive Board of the Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section, the Board of Directors of the Solo/Small Firm Section, and the Executive Committee of the Young Lawyers’ Section.
Kintisha Matthews is an experienced domestic relations attorney who has spent her career making legal assistance accessible to everyone who needs it. She has served as a law clerk to the Honorable Patricia Stephens, Presiding Domestic Relations Judge; as a staff attorney at Legal Services Alabama specializing in representing victims of domestic violence; and now oversees VLB's domestic relations programs.

Kintisha holds a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications, a master's in Public Policy, and earned her J.D. from Western Michigan University Cooley School of Law in 2011.
Mercedes Davis is a 2019 graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She graduated with a B.S. in criminal justice. She is a recent graduate of Cumberland School of Law and was named the 2024 Public Interest Fellow of her graduating class. During her time at Cumberland School of Law, Mercedes focused on public interest law and worked tirelessly to advocate for underserved communities. She is passionate about using her legal education to make a positive impact in the world.
