2026 VLB Junior Board Application

Junior Board Qualifications

Young professionals (not just lawyers) and law students in their 2nd or 3rd year of law school under the age of 40 may submit an application for Volunteer Lawyers Birmingham (VLB) Junior Board membership.

Junior Board Membership Agreement

3-year term commitment;
Attend at least two-thirds of all Junior Board meetings annually;
Serve at the Junior Board’s annual fundraising event;
Pay $150 annual dues (Dues are waived for non-profit/government employees and law students);
Satisfy the annual 10 hour volunteer requirement; and
Assist in recruiting quality Junior Board members from diverse backgrounds, both culturally and professionally.

Junior Board Officers

The offices of President, Vice President, and Secretary/Treasurer will be elected annually, with additional officer positions and committee chairs added at the discretion of the Executive Committee.

Junior Board Meetings

Junior Board meetings will be held regularly (6-8 meetings per year). Additional meetings for special committees may be scheduled as needed.
